Ave Maria,

Gratia Plena,

Ora Pro Nobis!

Rome, Advent 2019

Dear Sisters,

As every year, Advent returns to us. The content is still the same, but also different. The richness of God's Word is different, and we are every year in different stages of our lives.

Advent brings hope and expectation. Our sight goes in two different directions. On the one hand, we are leaning beyond the horizon of mortality, looking for Christ coming in glory. On the other hand, we return to Bethlehem and remember the birth of the Son of God. Both events are an invitation to meet and embrace life.

The star of the Immaculate Mary shines especially in Advent, which is a sign of true hope and expectation, encounter and life. May the Lord be our Guide during this time of straightening the paths for us! Full of grace is a model for us to receive the most precious gift, Jesus, the Incarnate love of God. She, so beautiful, open to the mystery of God's will and humble,  became the living home of God, the Ark of the Covenant, the Temple of the Holy Spirit.

Dear Sisters, let us make room for the Lord during this Advent time of conversion - following Mary's example. God comes to us in different ways: let us listen to the Word of God, adore Jesus in the Holy Eucharist, accept the gift of his mercy in the sacrament of penance and reconciliation, celebrate with dignity liturgical events, let us be more sensitive to each other and meet the needs of our immediate surroundings. Let us fill ourselves with the presence of Christ. Let us be full of His grace and His love. Free from sin, let us imitate Mary's holiness. May she be an inspiring example for us to respond to God's call and to cooperate with His grace. May  we be filled with trust and faith for the truth, that what in Mary was humanly impossible - became possible.

I wish you a fruitful Advent and experience of the new birth of Jesus.

Awaiting the coming of the Lord,

Sr. Izabela Świerad SAC

* Our Way of Life *

"Our diverse talents and abilities, our differences in culture, nationality and age are assets for the richness of the community. Although we may be engaged in a variety of ministries, we all share the common call to apostolic discipleship in a community of the Catholic Apostolate of St. Vincent Pallotti."(OWL, 91)

"Christ, the Apostle of the Eternal Father, and his mission are central to our personal and community life, giving meaning and direction to our thinking, our spirituality, our prayer, action and suffering." (OWL, 19)

"As a community of disciples we are gathered around Jesus, the Apostle of the Eternal Father. Like the first disciples, we want to be with Jesus, be sent out by him and return to him to evaluate our service in the light of his presence." (OWL, 88)

"As Pallottines, it is our special charism to foster growth in faith and love among the laity, to awaken them to awareness of their apostolic call, and to cooperate with them in furthering the apostolic mission." (OWL, 21)

"Our relationships with one another should be marked by a love that bears all, believes all and hopes for all, a love that is neither conceited nor jealous, which hurts no one, nor is embittered or resentful. It is never discouraged but remains patient and kind. It rejoices with others and shares their suffering. It is with this kind of love that we should help and support one another." (OWL, 90)
