Repent and Believe in the Good News

                                                         Mark 1, 14-15

Dear Sisters,

With immense joy and gratitude to God, we, the members of the Formation Commission send you warm greetings from the Eternal City of Rome. The first meeting of the Commission was held in our Generalate from January 8 -13, 2018, and it consisted of the members from Poland, India, Cameroun, Tanzania and Belize.

To initiate the meeting, Sr. Izabela Świerad, Superior General, called our attention to the present situation of our entire Congregation and focused on the need of Spiritual Renewal. She also emphasized on giving much importance to On-going formation and expressed her concern of awakening each Sister to live the beauty of Consecrated life within the Pallottine Identity. Therefore, we believe it is a time to examine our vocation and the mission which the Church has entrusted to us through the Pallottine Charism.

In the spirit of collaboration, we studied the recommendations of the XX General Chapter regarding the formation theme. However, the focus of our discussion and deliberations was mainly on the Spiritual renewal and On-Going formation of the members of the entire Congregation. As we proceeded further, we realized that there is a need of having a balance between contemplative and active life; a need for radical changes in our life style and our ministry. We also believe that this is a desire of each one of us. Therefore, we wish that every Sister will become a woman of the Gospel and prophet of the Kingdom of God in today's world.

As a conclusion of our work, we suggest that each Province/Region/Delegature consider the following proposals regarding:

  • Spiritual Renewal Program, which will help us to discover anew our identity as Consecrated, Pallottine and Missionary Women
  • Spiritual Renewal Program, which will rebuild our Community Life
  • Spiritual Renewal Program, which will give us a new form in our apostolate and missions

Dear Sisters, with this letter we send you the first information of our reflections and discernment. This is a first step in our renewal process which invites us to look together in one direction to discover the joy and beauty of the life as consecrated women and recognize the importance of being prophetic witnesses.

We thank you for your prayerful support during these days of our sharing and reflections. With the New Year let us accept the grace of a new time... My love spoke and said to me:“Arise, my beloved, my beautiful one, come with me. Song of Songs: 2:10.

Dear Sisters, inspired by the Word of God, let us bring the new wine in new wineskins to the world. Let us remember that on this path of renewal we are accompanied by Mary, Mother of Divine Love and St. Vincent Pallotti.

* Our Way of Life *

"Our diverse talents and abilities, our differences in culture, nationality and age are assets for the richness of the community. Although we may be engaged in a variety of ministries, we all share the common call to apostolic discipleship in a community of the Catholic Apostolate of St. Vincent Pallotti."(OWL, 91)

"Christ, the Apostle of the Eternal Father, and his mission are central to our personal and community life, giving meaning and direction to our thinking, our spirituality, our prayer, action and suffering." (OWL, 19)

"As a community of disciples we are gathered around Jesus, the Apostle of the Eternal Father. Like the first disciples, we want to be with Jesus, be sent out by him and return to him to evaluate our service in the light of his presence." (OWL, 88)

"As Pallottines, it is our special charism to foster growth in faith and love among the laity, to awaken them to awareness of their apostolic call, and to cooperate with them in furthering the apostolic mission." (OWL, 21)

"Our relationships with one another should be marked by a love that bears all, believes all and hopes for all, a love that is neither conceited nor jealous, which hurts no one, nor is embittered or resentful. It is never discouraged but remains patient and kind. It rejoices with others and shares their suffering. It is with this kind of love that we should help and support one another." (OWL, 90)
