GENERAL VISITATION IN THE POLISH PROVINCE

From 1 to 31 October 2018,  General Visitation was held in the Polish Province. The theme for the visitation was taken from the letter of St. Paul to Timothy:  God gave us no spirit of fear but power and love and sober thinking (2 Tm 1, 7). The General Councilors, delegates of the General Superior, visited all of our communities in Poland. They travelled from North to South and from West to East traversing Polish roads in the picturesque autumn season. The visitation was marked by mutual openness, trust, joy of meeting together and  sisterly sharing of faith experience and the richness of consecrated life. The beautiful  liturgies were the heart of the visitation path, in search for sanctity and ways where the Province can fully develop.

The sisters undertake in Poland multiple and diverse apostolic services. They work as catechists in schools. In social homes for disabled and hospices, they look after the most needy. It is a very touching to see the concern of our Sisters for the sick and suffering. The sisters also run a kindergarten and an orphanage Our Home. They also work in parishes as sacristans, in parish offices and Caritas Instituations outlets and in the  bishop curia's. Reading the signs of the times, they are engaged in the pastoral care of children and youth. They are in close collaboration with  Pallottine Fathers and Lay  Union members. The apostolic commitment of the Sisters in our Polish Province is marked by the spirit of the new evangelization and expresses the charism of St. Vincent Pallotti.

The visitation was also a joyful experience of building up an international community and collaboration between the provincial and general governments. It was an opportunity to meet the Sisters from Rwanda, Tanzania and India. All our meetings during the visitation: individual and with the community, superiors and two governments, Provincial and General - were mutual strengthening in faith and building up of sisterly relations.

Let us pray through the intercession of Mary, the Queen, Patron of the Polish Province, that God may grant good fruits in our work toward His infinite glory.

* Our Way of Life *

"Our diverse talents and abilities, our differences in culture, nationality and age are assets for the richness of the community. Although we may be engaged in a variety of ministries, we all share the common call to apostolic discipleship in a community of the Catholic Apostolate of St. Vincent Pallotti."(OWL, 91)

"As a community of disciples we are gathered around Jesus, the Apostle of the Eternal Father. Like the first disciples, we want to be with Jesus, be sent out by him and return to him to evaluate our service in the light of his presence." (OWL, 88)

"As Pallottines, it is our special charism to foster growth in faith and love among the laity, to awaken them to awareness of their apostolic call, and to cooperate with them in furthering the apostolic mission." (OWL, 21)

"Our relationships with one another should be marked by a love that bears all, believes all and hopes for all, a love that is neither conceited nor jealous, which hurts no one, nor is embittered or resentful. It is never discouraged but remains patient and kind. It rejoices with others and shares their suffering. It is with this kind of love that we should help and support one another." (OWL, 90)
