VISITATION IN INDIA

[More: Photo Gallery]

From November 11 - December 10, 2014 Sr. Izabela Świerad, Superior General and Sr. Josephina D`Souza, General Councillor embarked on the journey to India for the 2nd part of the Canonical Visitation to Mary Mother of Divine Love Province.

With great love and joy, Provincial Superior, Sr. Inacinha Fernandes and the Sisters of the community welcomed them with Arathi and flowers according to the Indian tradition. The Sisters travelled to different states namely: Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka where our communities are established. They had the opportunity to meet each Sister and enjoyed their different deeds of love and hospitality. They also visited the bishops, parish priests, directors of Institutes, Union communities, including Pallottine Fathers, Cenacle Sisters and Kristsevikas members.  The welcoming eyes and simplicity of the poor, needy and neglected brethren of our mission areas touched the hearts of our sisters and raised their spirits in gratitude to God for the gifts of these brethren to us as our companions on the journey towards our heavenly city.

The Sisters had the golden occasion to visit the Exposition of the relic of St. Francis Xavier at Old Goa. On November 29th, we were honored to celebrate the Birthday of Sr. Izabela in our house in Chempana Viliah at Nagercoil. Sr. Eugine Nirmala arranged this special day on behalf of the Province.

December 8th on the beautiful Feast day of Mary, Immaculate Conception, Sr. Susmita Kullu pronounced her First Vows in the presence of the Superior General. It was a day of gratitude to God for the gift of Sr. Susmita for her commitment to our Congregation. One of the significant moments was the display of the talents of our Sisters, Novices, postulants and candidates through their creative cultural programs. It was indeed a time of fun, laughter and enriching moments of love and togetherness as Sisters to each other.

All the meetings, discussions, reflections and sharing paved the way for us to move together with renewed vigour, enthusiasm, and the joy to walk the journey of our consecrated life as Pallottine Missionary Sisters in India, our Mother Land. The Canonical visitation concluded by enjoying the scenic beauty of our Country with its different climatic conditions and geographical demography.

We are grateful to Sr. Izabela Świerad and Sr. Josephina D` Souza for their love, care, guidance and support which they brought to our Province through kind gestures and blessings. May Jesus the Apostle of the Eternal Father continue to live in us and in our apostolates.

* Our Way of Life *

"Our diverse talents and abilities, our differences in culture, nationality and age are assets for the richness of the community. Although we may be engaged in a variety of ministries, we all share the common call to apostolic discipleship in a community of the Catholic Apostolate of St. Vincent Pallotti."(OWL, 91)

"As a community of disciples we are gathered around Jesus, the Apostle of the Eternal Father. Like the first disciples, we want to be with Jesus, be sent out by him and return to him to evaluate our service in the light of his presence." (OWL, 88)

"As Pallottines, it is our special charism to foster growth in faith and love among the laity, to awaken them to awareness of their apostolic call, and to cooperate with them in furthering the apostolic mission." (OWL, 21)

"Our relationships with one another should be marked by a love that bears all, believes all and hopes for all, a love that is neither conceited nor jealous, which hurts no one, nor is embittered or resentful. It is never discouraged but remains patient and kind. It rejoices with others and shares their suffering. It is with this kind of love that we should help and support one another." (OWL, 90)
