July-August 2011

▪ From 31 July to 11 August a very important gathering took place in the Motherhouse of our Congregation - the Central Assembly.  The theme of this gathering, With the Pallottine passion for the mission of Christ, inspired us to deepen our particular missionary call for the Mission of Christ, reaching to the roots to the beginning of our Congregation and fulfilling anew our spirit with the spirit of our Founder and pioneer sisters. In collaboration with the General Administration, Provincial Sr. Helga Weidemann, prepared a very interesting program that included jubilee celebrations for the sisters of the: 50th, 60th, 65th, and 70th year anniversaries of the profession. The program also included a ‘walking in the footsteps’ of our pioneer sisters, a memorial service at the graveyard in honor of our deceased missionaries, and historical sessions on the beginnings of the Pallottine Missionary Sisters' branch prepared by Sr. Dr. Gerburg Vogt and Sr. Magdalene Klein. At the Assembly every member through her own province, region or delegature represented our Congregation showing the Congregation of his today. Present for the first time were Sr. Bellancila Mukandahiro from the new unit - Notre Dame de Kibeho Region of Rwanda-Congo and Sr. Consuelo Burgos from Belize. The participants thanked the sisters of Germany for their hospitality, and all the Sisters for their prayer and spiritual accompaniment. More information regarding the Central Assembly may be found on our website: www.pallottine-missionaries-rome.com/

▪ On 14 August Srs. Ingrid Schuler and Adelheid Scheloske celebrated their Silver Jubilee of religious consecration in the Limburg chapel together with the sisters, friends and family members. Fr. Bernhard Scheloske, SAC, brother of Sr. Adelheid was the main celebrant and Fr. Fridrich Kretz was the preacher.

* Our Way of Life *

"Our diverse talents and abilities, our differences in culture, nationality and age are assets for the richness of the community. Although we may be engaged in a variety of ministries, we all share the common call to apostolic discipleship in a community of the Catholic Apostolate of St. Vincent Pallotti."(OWL, 91)

"As a community of disciples we are gathered around Jesus, the Apostle of the Eternal Father. Like the first disciples, we want to be with Jesus, be sent out by him and return to him to evaluate our service in the light of his presence." (OWL, 88)

"As Pallottines, it is our special charism to foster growth in faith and love among the laity, to awaken them to awareness of their apostolic call, and to cooperate with them in furthering the apostolic mission." (OWL, 21)

"Our relationships with one another should be marked by a love that bears all, believes all and hopes for all, a love that is neither conceited nor jealous, which hurts no one, nor is embittered or resentful. It is never discouraged but remains patient and kind. It rejoices with others and shares their suffering. It is with this kind of love that we should help and support one another." (OWL, 90)
