OWL 15. According to Pallotti’s mandate, the close following of Christ is the foundation of our religious institute and the Gospel is our rule.

OWL 1. We, the Missionary Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate, accept Our Way of Life as help, inspiration, and encouragement in the following of Jesus. It is to foster unity of heart and guide us in continuing St. Vincent Pallotti’s mission in our times.

OWL 10. For the greater glory of God, we are sent as Pallottine Sisters, to revive, spread and deepen faith, to strengthen hope and rekindle love.We seek to awaken in all Christians an awareness of their apostolic call, so that the day may soon come when there will be only one flock and one shepherd.

About St. Vincent Pallotti (source: Wikipedia)

"Dear Sisters, the Church looks to you to "speak" of Christ to those whom you serve and to "show" him to them. Such witness demands that you yourselves first contemplate the face of Christ... In this way you will not only continue  to "see" God with the eyes of faith but will also be effective in making his presence "perceptible" to others through the example of your own lives  - lives marked by the zeal and compassion for the poor so readily associated with your beloved founder." (John Paul II, to the General Chapter members in 2004)

Our Holy Father encouraged us Pallottine Missionaries to be witnesses, whose testimony emanates from contemplation of the life of Jesus Christ. Only then we will be able to show the true image of Jesus Christ to others. As a model, as a teacher, and as a spiritual guide in our religious journey, our beloved Founder accompanies us. St. Vincent Pallotti was an authentic man of deep faith. God, Infinitive Love and Mercy was the source and goal of his inspiration and initiatives. Simply describing the life of our Saint, we can repeat the beautiful words of his prayer: God always and in all, only God, my God. This prayer veils the transcendence of his life, his desire for sanctity and the motivation of his apostolic actions. Vincent Pallotti was fascinated with God - always seeking Him, longing for Him, God Infinite Love, Infinite Mercy. God was the essence of his entire life.

To manifest the love of Infinite God, Pallottii imitated His beloved Son, Jesus Christ: may my life be destroyed, may the life of our Lord Jesus Christ be my life. For him Jesus was the Apostle of the Eternal Father, one who was sent by Love, to sanctify this world and bring salvation. The life of the Salvatore and his mission became a passionate model of Pallotti's life, his vocation and apostolate.

As daughters of St. Vincent Pallotti we shall follow the footsteps of our Founder, becoming fools for God, holy in love, and generous in apostolic collaboration. As it states in our Constitutions, the spirit that is to inspire us is the spirit of love... we are to follow Jesus, who shows us that God is love (cf. OWL # 11,12). Let us then imitate the infinitive love of Jesus Christ in all aspects of our religious life: in our prayers, in the community, in the missions, at the service of those who are in need - everywhere we are. May our communities become oases of love, peace and forgiveness; may they become Cenacles, where all are calling on the Holy Spirit as one Congregation to fulfill the will of God. This requires more effort of giving up of ourselves, more dialogue and collaboration always looking toward the future, forward for the greater Glory of God and the good of all others. This will require true conversion. Let us stand anew at the disposal of the Church, read again our call, and live faithfully according to the Constitutions of the Congregation and our vows.

Dear Sisters, some of you may say that there is not much we can do, since many of our communities are diminishing, sisters are aging, and the Congregation has less energy to "show” Jesus Christ in our apostolates. Love has no limitation, no barrier, and really what counts in life is love (cf. 1 Cor.13). Let us open our eyes and seek God, and He will indicate the fields where we still can rekindle love and revive faith; create a life of spirit, a spirit of mission. Consecrated life is none other than to accomplish perfect charity and consecration is the greatest act of love, by which a person gives to the Almighty Father herself fully. We consecrated Pallottine women are called to this strong unity with the Triune God; we are called to sanctity, as St. Vincent Pallotti has stated.

I wish and I pray that the love of God will fill every space in our hearts, and be the soul of our communities, provinces, and the entire Congregation. May that love become a uniting power for Pallottine collaboration within the Union of Catholic Apostolate, the "evangelical pearl", which Our Founder entrusted to us as our heritage (cf. Chapter Message). From the moment of our consecration, we do not live any more for ourselves, but for all humanity. Like St. Vincent Pallotti, who was an untiring apostle of love, let us learn from him, the source, and share love: the more He loved God, the more his desire grew for - "never enough" - for the needs of others.

Mary, Queen of Apostles, be for us a beloved Mother as she was for the Founder; be the model and maestra of our spiritual and consecrated life. May she accompany us on this way of encounter with Love.

United in prayer at the tomb of the Founder,

* Our Way of Life *

"Our diverse talents and abilities, our differences in culture, nationality and age are assets for the richness of the community. Although we may be engaged in a variety of ministries, we all share the common call to apostolic discipleship in a community of the Catholic Apostolate of St. Vincent Pallotti."(OWL, 91)

"As a community of disciples we are gathered around Jesus, the Apostle of the Eternal Father. Like the first disciples, we want to be with Jesus, be sent out by him and return to him to evaluate our service in the light of his presence." (OWL, 88)

"As Pallottines, it is our special charism to foster growth in faith and love among the laity, to awaken them to awareness of their apostolic call, and to cooperate with them in furthering the apostolic mission." (OWL, 21)

"Our relationships with one another should be marked by a love that bears all, believes all and hopes for all, a love that is neither conceited nor jealous, which hurts no one, nor is embittered or resentful. It is never discouraged but remains patient and kind. It rejoices with others and shares their suffering. It is with this kind of love that we should help and support one another." (OWL, 90)
