Closely related to the preparation of programmes common to the entire Union is the issue of internal and external communication. For external communication it will be necessary to activate all of the traditional and special, national and international, channels of information, using the different expertise present within the Union as well as knowledge in this field to make Saint Vincent ever more present in the life of our times.

For internal communication it will be indispensible to use the means which the technology of today makes available with positive effects regarding the immediacy of communication and the possibility of reaching a larger number of people.

For this reason, the technical development of a temporary website has been initiated by the Engineering College in Nagpur[1] (India) with the hope of being able to use it in early January, while “online editing” will ensure the development of content, the insertion and updating of communications, and the translations.

The website will be an instrument principally for supplying information and news from the Committee “The Pallottine Family Celebrates” regarding the celebrations and the progress of the jubilee year and for receiving news and information about local initiatives from wherever the Pallottine family is present throughout the world. The motto of the site should be “everyone everywhere”, that is it must succeed in reaching all of the components of the Pallottine family wherever they are. In this way we will be able to break down the barrier of space and time, in order “virtually” to be able to live as one at the same time the experience of the jubilee year, both in the events that will take place and in the spiritual reality which forms their background.

Furthermore, another objective can be achieved through the website: that of making Saint Vincent, his spirituality and the family born from him known more deeply and widely ad extra in the wider world.

Organizational Notes

Pending the activation of the dedicated website, the communications will take place through:

-     publication through the websites of the Core Communities

-     e-mails which will be distributed through the three General Councils of the Core Communities and the General Secretariat of the Union. For this initial period, the following email addresses may be contacted:

Furthermore, we recommend that the NCCs and Core Communities indicate a contact person in order to keep in touch and inform the Committee about initiatives which will take place locally. All of the material produced during this year will be preserved for future history in the archives of the General Secretariat of the Union.

Subsequent periodic communications will provide further details on the initiatives being planned in Rome.
