On the occasion of the Year of Consecrated Life more than 4,000 young consecrated people came to Rome and attended the First World Meeting of Consecrated Youth, which was held under the slogan "Wake up the World – Gospel, Prophecy, Hope".

From 15th to 19th September the streets and squares of Rome were filled with young people devoted to God who walked in the footsteps of the first Christians, seeking to strengthen their faith and their choice of life. They represented more than 90 countries around the world. Among the religious youth the members of our Pallottine family of three congregations were also present. Our Congregation was represented by sr. Santa from Brazil, sr. Christine from India, sr. Paulina from Poland and sr. Ester from Belize.

The Presentation of Jesus in the Temple

2 February 2015

My dear Sisters,

As the entire Church rejoices on the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus at the Temple, I invite you to celebrate this unique day with gratitude and joy for the gift of our vocation to the Consecrated Life! This is the significant day to recall our personal meeting with Jesus and His invitation to leave behind all superficial worldly trappings in order to continue our faithful journey towards the future.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Consecrated Life,

I am writing to you as the Successor of Peter, to whom the Lord entrusted the task of confirming his brothers and sisters in faith (cf. Lk 22:32).  But I am also writing to you as a brother who, like yourselves, is consecrated to God.

Together let us thank the Father, who called us to follow Jesus by fully embracing the Gospel and serving the Church, and poured into our hearts the Holy Spirit, the source of our joy and our witness to God’s love and mercy before the world.

* Our Way of Life *

"Our diverse talents and abilities, our differences in culture, nationality and age are assets for the richness of the community. Although we may be engaged in a variety of ministries, we all share the common call to apostolic discipleship in a community of the Catholic Apostolate of St. Vincent Pallotti."(OWL, 91)

"Christ, the Apostle of the Eternal Father, and his mission are central to our personal and community life, giving meaning and direction to our thinking, our spirituality, our prayer, action and suffering." (OWL, 19)

"As a community of disciples we are gathered around Jesus, the Apostle of the Eternal Father. Like the first disciples, we want to be with Jesus, be sent out by him and return to him to evaluate our service in the light of his presence." (OWL, 88)

"As Pallottines, it is our special charism to foster growth in faith and love among the laity, to awaken them to awareness of their apostolic call, and to cooperate with them in furthering the apostolic mission." (OWL, 21)

"Our relationships with one another should be marked by a love that bears all, believes all and hopes for all, a love that is neither conceited nor jealous, which hurts no one, nor is embittered or resentful. It is never discouraged but remains patient and kind. It rejoices with others and shares their suffering. It is with this kind of love that we should help and support one another." (OWL, 90)
